Many vehicles made after year 2017 no longer use power steering fluid but instead use electronic steering where no power steering fluid is in the system. Some modern vehicles still use power steering fluid. Regardless if your vehicle was made in 1999 or 2019 see below on how to maintain this important part of your vehicle: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First: Understand that even conventional power steering fluid can last well over 100,000 miles. Unlike motor oil that needs to be changed at least once a year the power steering fluid may not need changing. A common tactic by dealerships is to show your dark colored power steering fluid. Be advised power steering fluid that is dark still is probably fine to drive for a long time yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second: Get out a turkey baster and suction out some of the fluid. Then add the same amount you just suctioned out from new power steering fluid.
